Mrs. Tolzin

Hate that Cat has been wonderful to read. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I was surprised to read that Jack's mom was deaf. Now I understand why he asked if when people who are deaf read about sounds in poems if they actually heard sounds in their heads. Below are a few questions I would like you to ponder before you respond. Also, if you have anything else you would like to comment about, let me know. As always, continue to read and enjoy every minute!

1. Describe how Jack's feelings about Skitter McKitter and the fat black cat evolve. How can you tell that Jack cares about his kitten? Are these feelings different than what Jack felt for Sky?

2. How do we readers find out that Jack's mother is deaf? What imagery does Jack use to describe her?

I can't wait to read your thoughts.

Mrs. Tolzin

Hi Class. I know that you enjoyed reading Love That Dog. Now I hope that you will also appreciate reading Hate That Cat. On this site I would like you to write comments about figurative language that you have noticed, thoughts, and feelings that you have while reading the poetry. Mrs. Venem and I will be checking this blog regularly. We can't wait to read your thoughts. Have fun! Enjoy and as always, continue reading! :) Mrs.T
